What is The Edinburgh Fund?
The Edinburgh Fund is a flexible new fund to help promote enterprise in the city. It aims to keep bureaucracy to the minimum and to have a streamlined decision making process.
Where does the money come from?
The Edinburgh Fund originates from the sale of a community shop in Niddrie, set up and run by Community Enterprise Ltd. The proceeds of this sale are now being reinvested back into the community to help establish new enterprises. The shop sale has been matched with European funding to bring the total amount available to £145,000.
What does the Fund support?
The Fund can provide grants for new and existing social enterprises, voluntary organisations, co-operatives and community projects in Edinburgh looking to undertake or develop new trading activity.
What Funds are Available?
Grants of up to £5,000
Grants are available for a range of research and development activities for organisations that are eligible.Who is managing the Fund? The Fund is run by Community Enterprise Ltd. and delivered in partnership with Forth Sector and the City of Edinburgh Council with financial support from the European Social Fund.
